We age the cream for three days before traditionally churning it into butter, We the wash the butter three times with ice cold water before extruding it by hand. Previously, you could only find our butter in such places as the QE2. Now you can get this award-winning butter, freshly churned and lightly salted, in a handy 200g hand packed roll. A real hit with our Farmers’ Markets clientele.
South Downs Butter can be frozen and has a fresh shelf life of 3 to 6 weeks - ideal for use at home and within the retail trade. It is fully traceable back to the farm from which the milk came. Endorsed by many quality local producers.
Following the success of South Downs Butter, we decided to make a Sage Butter to accompany our ravioli and fresh gnocchi. We entered a batch into the Great Taste Awards and picked up an award! We are hoping to launch the sage butter for markets very soon, we’ll keep you posted. Other flavours are to include Garlic Butter and Walnut Butter, as well as Brandy Butter; not for pasta you understand, but another personal favourite of our MD - we try to indulge him if we can. |
